There are two restaurants and two bars inside the garden itself, spread across the top levels, plus a separate Italian restaurant at street level opposite the entrance. They take bookings up to sixty days ahead and they are the most reliable way into the building when the free slots have gone.
Sky Garden Dining Tickets
These packages bundle a meal or a drink with garden entry. Two of them are meals at Larch, which sits on the ground floor opposite the entrance rather than up in the garden.

Table Bookings and Garden Entry
Larch, at Ground Level
Larch is a classic Italian restaurant on the ground floor of the annex opposite the Sky Garden entrance, sharing the building with the gift shop and cafe. You eat at street level, then go up afterwards. It is not in the garden and there is no view from the table.
A booking at Darwin or Fenchurch gets you up without a separate ticket. Larch does not work that way, so if you are booking a table there on its own, book a free garden ticket alongside it.
The two Larch packages above bundle the meal with your way in, which makes them good value for both. Just know what you are buying: the food comes first, at street level, and the garden comes after.
The Restaurants and Bars
Darwin Brasserie
An all-day brasserie on level 36, serving seasonal British cooking and looking out over the Thames. It is the one most people end up in, families included, and breakfast is the meal that draws the warmest write-ups. Bottomless brunch runs on Saturdays and Sundays. There is a chef’s table seating up to twenty for larger groups.
The window tables you pay extra for look out over the building’s interior atrium rather than over London, which is worth knowing before you book one. Food draws more criticism than anything else in the complex, so come for the room and the view rather than for the cooking.
Fenchurch Restaurant
The fine-dining option, headed by Chef de Cuisine Kerth Gumbs, whose cooking reflects his Anguillan heritage. Sky Garden’s own pages describe it inconsistently, sometimes as contemporary British and sometimes as contemporary Caribbean. The restaurant’s own page is the better guide, so read it as contemporary fine dining with a Caribbean influence.
The Vinoly Room sits inside Fenchurch as a private dining room for up to sixteen. Fenchurch also has the strictest dress code of the venues, and a booking here replaces your entry ticket in the same way a Darwin booking does.
Sky Pod Bar
The one people talk about most, and an all-day space that turns into a live music venue in the evening. It faces the Thames, and it is where the bands and DJ sets happen from half six. It is a different room at six in the evening than it is at noon, so pick your hour to match what you want from it.
Standard admission is standing only, so a seat is something you claim or pay for rather than something you get. The noise from about six is the complaint that comes up most often from people who wanted a quiet look at the view.
City Garden Bar
The second bar, sharing hours and a booking system with Sky Pod, with reservations allocated to one or the other rather than chosen. Where Sky Pod looks south over the Thames, City Garden faces north across the City.
It is the quieter of the two, which is a recommendation rather than a warning. If Sky Pod is loud and full, this is the other side of the building.
Dress Code
Daytime garden visits
There is no dress code for a free daytime entry ticket. Wear what you like. Guides that suggest otherwise are describing the restaurants, not the garden.
From 6pm in Darwin and the bars
Smart casual after six. Plain dark trainers pass without comment. Bright running shoes, sportswear and flip-flops are where refusals happen, and they happen in the evening rather than at lunchtime.
Fenchurch Restaurant
Stricter throughout. No sportswear, hoodies or gym trainers. No flip flops, baseball caps or vest tops in either restaurant.
How strictly it is applied
Inconsistently, and mostly in the evening. Plenty of people report nobody looking at their shoes. A group of four were turned away at six because one of them was wearing trainers. If you are booking an evening table, dress for the stricter version.
Booking a Table
Reservations open sixty days ahead across the restaurants and bars. Parties of fewer than eight book through the online widget on the Sky Garden site. For eight or more, use the Groups heading on the widget for Darwin, or email the venue directly for Fenchurch and for Larch.
Nothing alcoholic can be brought in, including into Sky Pod Bar, City Garden Bar and Fenchurch Terrace, and it is confiscated at security. Corkage applies in the restaurants if you want to bring a bottle to a meal, and that is arranged with the venue.
Fenchurch Terrace and the Francis Golding Terrace are outdoor terrace areas rather than restaurants, whatever older listings say. The Francis Golding Terrace is the one people mean when they talk about going outside, and it closes at 6pm.
Music Nights
Live bands and DJ sets run from 6:30pm, programmed through ALR Music. Dates and access times vary week to week, so check what is on before you plan an evening around it. Pre-booking is strongly recommended, standing access is over-18s only, and physical photographic identification is needed for evening walk-ins.
The music fills the free public space as well as the bar, so an evening ticket is an evening out rather than a quiet look at the skyline.
Insider Tips
Skip the window-seat upgrade at Darwin. The window in question overlooks the atrium inside the building. Take a normal table and walk out to the terraces for the view instead.
Breakfast is the easiest booking. Morning tables at Darwin are the least contested, they cost less than dinner, and they get you into the building before the queues build.
Book a bar table if you want to sit down. Seating in the free space is effectively claimed by whoever is buying something. A bar reservation is the difference between an hour on your feet and an hour in a chair.
City Garden when Sky Pod is heaving. Same hours, same booking system, north-facing rather than river-facing, and a fraction of the attention. Ask which one your reservation is in.
Families do better in the bar than the restaurants. Parents consistently describe the restaurants as expensive, corporate and too loud for conversation. The casual cafe and bar space works better with children, and the visit tends to be a half-hour add-on rather than the day.
